About Lizelle van Vuuren
Lizelle van Vuuren was born and raised in South Africa and has called Colorado home since 1997. She finished High School and College in Colorado attending both CU Boulder and The Art Institute of Colorado where she immersed herself in media and tech by landing an internship at a tech company at 19. Since then she’s worked in Enterprise software development and also received her MBA from Capella University while working in the field. Lizelle launched her first company in 2009, EmSpot a marketing and web development agency for Small Business but she soon fell into the world of tech Startup’s and by early 2012 she started to work on consumer and B2B Startups. It was at this moment of being entrenched in the tech world that she realized that far too few women and minorities were apart of innovation and she started to change that by creating what today is known, as Women Who Startup. Lizelle remains a technologist, serial entrepreneur and CEO of Women Who Startup focused on building a global brand and innovation company at Women Who Startup that creates and drives profound impact for female entrepreneurs and continues to develop and launch some of her other projects at her other company, Effectively Labs. Based in Denver, Colorado Lizelle continues to immerse herself in consumer and enterprise tech, the future of tech, entrepreneurship, AI, machine learning, venture funding and fundraising and many other interesting new markets and technologies and is constantly considering how to partner with Enterprise companies on innovation, impact, diversity and new technologies to improve the way people live and work.
